FAQ
Short answers to the questions we hear most.
The basics
What is Hizz?
A training app for hybrid fitness racing. Coaches plan the week's workouts, athletes log their times from their phone in seconds, and everyone in the gym or team sees a leaderboard.
Who is it for?
Gyms and their coaches, and freelance or online coaches with their own group of athletes (we call that a team). Same app for both; only the word on screen changes.
What does it cost?
Hizz is free while we test it with a small group of coaches. Athletes never pay. Before paid plans for gyms and coaches start, we'll tell coaches the prices in advance, and nothing is charged without your clear agreement (Terms of Use, section 7).
Are there ads?
No. No ads, no analytics, no tracking, and we never sell your data.
Do I need to download an app?
No. Hizz works in your phone's browser. To open it like an app, add it to your home screen:
iPhone: in Safari, tap Share → Add to Home Screen.
Android: in Chrome, tap the ⋮ menu → Add to home screen (or Install app).

Is there a password?
No. You type your email and we send you a login link. Never share that link or email with anyone: whoever has it can open your account.
For athletes
How do I join my gym or team?
Your coach sends you an invite link. Open it, sign up with your email, and you're in. You can belong to more than one gym or team and switch between them.
What's my division, and how do I change it?
Your coach sets your division (Women or Men, Open or Pro). It's saved with every result, so leaderboards compare like with like. If it's wrong, ask your coach. Results you logged before keep the division they had.
Why didn't my run count as a personal best?
Personal bests only count race-standard efforts: 1K, 5K, 10K, half marathon and marathon runs; 1000 m SkiErg and row; 80 m burpee broad jumps; and the weighted stations at race distance or reps and a race weight. Everything else is still saved and shows in My progress → All activities.
Who is on the leaderboard?
Everyone in your gym or team who logged a published workout. You can rank by total time or by each timed part, and filter by division. Strength sets are never on leaderboards. Other gyms and teams can't see it.
What happens to my results if I leave?
If a coach removes you, your past results stay on that gym's leaderboards and you can rejoin with a new invite link. If you want them gone too, ask us to delete your account (see below).
For coaches and gym owners
How do I get my athletes in?
Go to Members and share your invite link, for example in your group chat. Anyone with the link can join, so you can make a new link at any time; the old one stops working.
When do athletes see a workout?
Only after you publish it. Drafts stay private to you and your coaches, so you can plan the week ahead.
Can I add other coaches?
Yes. The owner can share a separate coach invite link from Members. Coaches can plan workouts, see results and set divisions.
What can I see about my athletes?
Their name, every result they log in your gym or team, their personal bests there, and Team progress. You never see their email address.
Your data
Who can see my data?
You see everything you log. Your gym's owner and coaches see your name and results in their gym. Other members see your name and times on leaderboards. Nobody else, and your email is never shown. Full details: Privacy Policy.
Where is my data stored?
In the EU (Frankfurt, Germany), protected so each gym or team can only ever see its own data.
Can I download my results?
Yes. My progress → Download my results gives you every result as a spreadsheet file.
How do I delete my account?
Email us from your account's email address (Contact). We delete your account, results and notes, free, within 30 days at the latest. Download your results first if you want to keep them.
